I get it now.

This is my first NRA Show, and while I haven’t yet made it to the floor at McCormick Place, I am already getting an idea of just how big this show is. My first sign was, well, an actual sign, welcoming me and other show attendees flying into Chicago’s Midway Airport. The second was the shuttle van I took to my hotel that was packed full of people all here for the same event. What’s more, everyone just took it for granted that we were all going to the NRA Show. And this is a down year. Cool.

Like my colleague Pam below, I’ve already learned a few things (courtesy of my shuttle companions):
  1. I will never go hungry, thanks to a likely abundance of free samples.
  2. Even in a down year, the show is big enough to necessitate wearing sensible shoes (sigh).
  3. While there are plenty of places and events where you can party the night away, sleep is a pretty good idea, too.
